Clive Palmer announces fair go for Western Australia

Media Release

The federal leader of the Palmer United Party Clive Palmer has announced that Western Australia will finally get a fair share of the wealth it produces under a Palmer United Party government.

“For too long WA has supported the rest of Australia,” Mr Palmer said.

“Despite the huge wealth produced by WA, Perth is seeing its communities crumbling, increased crime and youth suicide and homelessness on the increase and this government still reduces essential services.

“Tony Abbott wants to cut $75 billion from the budget if he is elected and the worry is that he’ll take it from WA and distribute it elsewhere. We need a more balanced approach.”

Mr Palmer said the Australian health system was crumbling, with nurses and doctors in despair.

“Coalition health spokesman Peter Dutton says that his government will cut health funding but frontline staff won’t be affected,” Mr Palmer said.

“This isn’t true, if administration people are cut, doctors and nurses will need to take up the slack and that will be at the expense of patient care.”

“This is no answer as it does affect frontline jobs.”
