An accident black spot in Clive Palmer’s federal electorate of Fairfax will receive federal government funding to improve its safety for road users and pedestrians.
The intersection of Fisherman’s Road and Commercial Road at Kuluin will have low growing foliage removed, a ‘Give Way’ sign relocated, green cycling pavement markings installed and signage upgraded.
The funding was provided under the Black Spot Programme, which identifies and treats black spots around the nation. Priority is given to locations with a history of serious road accidents.
Evaluation of the Black Spot Programme has shown it to be successful in reducing the incidence of road trauma.
